Goals & Methods of BDS

Despite BDS’s public messaging about “human rights,” the movement’s true agenda is unmistakable: the erasure of Israel as the world’s only Jewish state. BDS leaders and affiliated terror organizations have openly declared that their vision includes no peaceful coexistence, no compromise, and no recognition of Israel’s right to exist within any borders.

  • BDS’s Founding Charter drew its initial mandate directly from the “Council of National and Islamic Forces in Palestine”—an umbrella that explicitly includes Hamas and other terrorist groups whose charters advocate for the annihilation of Israel, not peaceful negotiation.
  • Hamas and Iranian Influence: Senior Hamas figures, particularly Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar, have repeatedly stated that the conflict “will never end” until Israel, and the Jewish presence in the region, is erased. When BDS echoes their demands—such as “right of return” (a demographic weapon to erase Israel)—it acts as a civilian arm of the same genocidal enterprise .
  • No Room for Compromise: Even when superficially discussing negotiations, terror leaders and BDS officials admit these are mere tactics to delegitimize and eventually dismantle Israel—never to enable sustainable coexistence .
  • Campus Incitement and Public Rhetoric: BDS-led protests are marked not by “dialogue” but demands to “globalize the Intifada” and replace Israel with their preferred regime. Chants such as “from the river to the sea” have become the rallying cry—a thinly veiled call for the destruction of Israel.

BDS’s Methods​

  • Economic, Academic, and Cultural Boycotts: BDS pushes for comprehensive embargoes that single out Israel, denying Jewish self-determination. This is not a protest against specific Israeli policies, but a campaign for Israel’s total isolation.
  • Lawfare and Propaganda: BDS weaponizes legal systems and international forums with spurious lawsuits, false war crimes allegations, and systematic defamation of Israeli citizens, soldiers, and defenders. This includes frivolous cases in European courts against IDF officers, rallies where speakers glorify terrorism, and aggressive lobbying of international institutions .
  • Antisemitic Incitement: BDS serves as a recruitment and propaganda platform for Iran-backed groups and terror-supporting fronts. It normalizes antisemitic rhetoric and abuse, inciting real-world attacks and emboldening hate against Jewish and Israeli targets globally .
  • Deception Campaigns: BDS consistently spreads misinformation—about the Gaza situation, Israeli “blockades,” civilian deaths, and the reality of security measures. This is part of a broader attempt—spearheaded by Iran and its proxies—to turn the world against Israel and justify terrorism as “resistance” .

Not “Peaceful Activism”—A War to Destroy Israel​

BDS is not a movement for reform or peace. It is the psychological and political front in a war designed to make Israel indefensible and to drive Jews from their historic homeland. Every slogan, boycott, rally, and lawsuit is another weapon in the arsenal of Israel’s most implacable enemies. There is no “coexistence” in the goals or vision of BDS—only permanent conflict until Israel ceases to exist.
